Moms Need All The Energy They Can Get!

Being a mom is very rewarding and lots of fun but it wears us out. Our kids are constantly running around, getting into things, sometimes waking up in the middle of the night from a nightmare. It is always nice to have some tips to boost our energy and make us feel refreshed so we have the energy to be a mom.

1. Drink a bottle of water before you are thirsty.
If you drink a bottle of water every so often before your body has the chance to get thirsty or get dehydrated, you till feel a lot better. Being dehydrated only makes you tired, get head aches, and sometimes feel nauseous. When you are a mom, you don't always get to rest or take a nap when you do not feel well so taking precautions is the best tip you can follow.

2. Exercise every chance you get.
Exercise is tough to do when you are a full time mom. Most times we don't have a sitter we can call up and ask to watch the kids while you go to the gym or you are too tired too from your busy routine. If you squeeze an hr. a day of physical activity, it will give you more energy than a nap. When the kids are playing, run around with them, play the Wii fitness games, do a fun exercise routine with the kids that they will be entertained by. If the kids are playing in the pool or outside, go swim or play tag with them. This will really give you energy to be able to handle any situation that may arise with your little rascals.

3. Get enough sleep.
Motherhood is a full time job and you may forget to get the sleep you need. You should try to get 8 hours of sleep per night to feel refreshed in the morning but sometimes the kids do not want to go to bed on time. If you need to put your kids to bed a little earlier because they take about an hour to fall asleep, don't feel bad doing it. If you get enough sleep, you will have more patience for your kids and you will be able to be a better mom.

4. Eat healthy balanced meals.
If you eat a bunch of unhealthy foods, you will gain weight and your body will be full of unhealthy additives from all of the processed foods. If you are tired or need fast meals, try your hardest to stay away from fast foods and junk. You can keep spaghetti sauces on hand and even use veggie pasta to replace the white pasta. You can always devote one night a week to making a bunch of meals and freeze them to last a week or more. Having healthy home made frozen meals makes it easier to eat healthy because you can just thaw out the meals pop them in the microwave and viola!

5. Take a break.
During the day, your kids are active and you have to keep an eye on them to make sure they don't get into anything dangerous. Watching over your kids all day is tiring and can make you feel aggravated and stressed, mom don't feel bad to put your kids down for a nap, or turn the TV on for a while to get a break. If you get a little time to yourself and get a break, you will less likely lose control of your patience. It is important to have time to yourself because your kids will suffer if your body is overexerted.

One of the most important things a mom needs is energy. Energy to kiss those boo boos, energy to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner, energy to give affection, we need all the energy we can get. Practicing these steps to have more energy will make you a better, happier mom!
